Towards a sustainable future
Shared goals
In the face of environmental challenges, it is essential to act in a forward-looking and responsible manner. Europapier not only wants to witness these changes, but also actively participate in them and create solutions for a sustainable future.
As a leading company in the wholesale paper and advertising technology industry, we take responsibility for the environment and society.
To meet this challenge, we communicate our values to our employees and business partners. In addition to financial goals, social and environmental goals are also an integral part of our corporate strategy.
Europapier is committed to achieving sustainable development goals based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals aim to promote sustainable economic growth, improve social welfare and protect the environment.
We are proud to contribute to the achievement of these goals.
Europapier makes a significant contribution to the well-being of society and our planet. Our sustainability strategy is based on the United Nations SDGs. While this strategy is derived from the Heizel Group goals, Europapier sets specific priorities that are closely linked to our business activities and values.
The UN goal focuses on ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Energy plays a central role in our modern world. This makes it all the more important to accelerate the transition to clean and sustainable energy sources.
Europapier is taking proactive steps to reduce its current electricity consumption as much as possible through modernisation and smart use. The ultimate goal is to achieve a 100% share of clean energy (electricity). In this way, Europapier is making a significant contribution to clean and sustainable energy management.
The eighth UN goal focuses on creating decent work and promoting sustainable economic growth. In the global economy, it is crucial to create jobs that are not only satisfying but also fair.
Europapier acts as a responsible employer that takes various measures to achieve this goal. Europapier's commitment to promoting ethical and responsible business practices is underlined by the introduction of compliance training and the development of a Code of Conduct.
Europapier is committed to the well-being of its employees and other people. Based on the Sustainable Development Goals, the focus is on creating decent jobs, avoiding negative environmental impacts and sustainable entrepreneurship. Priorities such as ensuring employee health and gender equality, including equal pay, are deeply rooted in Europapier's corporate values.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. The UN's thirteenth goal calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its effects. Companies are obliged to take immediate action. Europapier takes this obligation seriously.
To contribute to climate protection, Europapier is implementing specific measures. A key element is the goal of reducing CO2 emissions in warehouse and office buildings, as well as in the vehicle fleet. In addition, emissions from all transport are to be reduced.
Europapier pursues a holistic approach to climate protection. An important aspect here is the analysis and reduction of its own energy consumption. The basis of the climate strategy is the modernisation of infrastructure and the implementation of new guidelines for vehicle use and more sustainable driving habits. In this way, we are taking decisive action against climate change.
Forests are an essential part of our ecosystem and an irreplaceable asset for humanity. The fifteenth UN goal emphasises the importance of protecting, restoring and promoting sustainable use. The appeal aims to end deforestation, protect forests and preserve biodiversity.
Europapier is pursuing this goal by accelerating the growth of sales of FSC® or PEFC certified paper. These certifications signify sustainable forest management. They ensure biodiversity, productivity, regenerative capacity and vitality of forests.
We are looking for a product range with an excellent environmental profile, as confirmed by internationally or nationally recognised certifications. In this way, Europapier promotes the sustainable and responsible use of our land resources.
